With the epic treks made by millions of displaced Christians in mind, three charity workers walked on through downpours to help those persecuted around the world.

Dr Caroline Hull, national director of ACN (UK), based in Sutton, was joined by colleagues John Pontifex and Nathalie Raffray as they undertook the Thames Moonlight 10 Mile Ultra Challenge on Friday, 12th September.

Intermittent showers didn’t deter the trio who were doing a #WalkofHope for #RedWednesday, our annual UK and international campaign highlighting the persecution of Christians and other religious minorities around the world.

UKRAINE APPEAL

ACN IN ACTION - Ukraine Witnesses of Hope

"Every day we must bury people like military men, and civilians who’ve died from Russian drones and missiles. This war, that has caused so much grief and misery, has prompted a lot of people to ask questions about faith, to ask questions about hope...For in God, we find hope"

The Ukrainian Greek and Roman Catholic communities are crying out for our help. We cannot forget about them. Through your blessings ACN is supporting practical and spiritual projects to help make sure that the faithful in Ukraine are safe, and able to continue to come together in Christ.

Please support our appeal and help the suffering Church in Ukraine.

UKRAINIAN ICON SERVICE - October 7th 2pm - 5pm - ALDERSHOT

You are warmly invited to join us at a special service to bless the new 'Our Lady of Victories' Ukrainian Icon, which will be installed at the Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George, Aldershot, GU11 2BY.

This icon, the first ever 'Our Lady of Victories', commissioned by the Catholic Military Association (CMA), was brought into being by Ukrainian Catholic iconographers who ACN work with. Eighteen months in the making, progress on the icon was slow due to the pressures of the war – key staff were called up and served on the front line before returning to carry on with this project, despite injuries.

The icon blends a devotion beloved by the Church in the West with the artistic traditions celebrated by the Church in the East and as such is a testimony to the spiritual closeness that unites all Christians at a time when the world is hungering for an end to suffering. The icon miraculously made it out of Ukraine despite the backdrop of bombardments and other attacks.

The VIVO Vocal Quartet choir in residence at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family in London will perform a range of sacred, classical, and Ukrainian folk tunes at the service. The service itself will be celebrated by Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski OBE, Eparchial Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London, and Bishop Paul Mason, RC Bishop of the Forces. The special service will be approximately one hour and will be followed by a reception with afternoon tea and military band, with a chance to meet and talk to Dr Caroline Hull and other members of the ACN UK team.

ACN #TEAMRED

ACN UK Team, turned fundraisers!

#TeamRed in the ACN UK team is in full motion as our staff have started fundraising activities across the UK to help raise money for #RedWednesday. Please join us in making a difference to the lives of suffering and persecuted Christian children and families in some of the most dangerous places to live as a Christian.

Bobby, our major gifts manager, enjoys making the team laugh with his dad jokes in meetings, and he is bringing all his enthusiasm and positivity with him to #TeamRed. Having been training hard in preparation for his fundraiser, it will all come down to this weekend where he is taking part in the 'Victoria Park Run' in Leicester tomorrow (20th September).

"I am delighted to be taking part in tomorrow's Victoria Park Run in Leicester to raise much needed funds for Aid to the Church in Need. I will be there come rain or sunshine flying the flag for the wonderful charity I work for. I have a couple of friends running it with me. If I can do it, so can you!" - Bobby, ACN UK

Show him your support by contributing to his fundraiser, and remember every donation will be doubled thanks to our matched campaign.

Bobby's 5K Leicester Run

With ParkRuns happening every weekend in 871 location across the country we’d love you taking part solo or with friends and raise what you can!
