Ukraine - Thank you for your support

Seminarians in the St Josaphat interdiocesan seminary in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine ACN©

Many have fled Ukraine, some will never return – but the young men studying at the Uzhhorod Greek Catholic Theological Academy are determined to stay and help a suffering country recover.
The seminarians also have tragic stories to tell about brothers, fathers, cousins and friends who had either recently perished or were still fighting in the east. Nevertheless, their unshakeable faith and calling keep them positive for the future.
Final-year seminarian Ivan Vovnianyk said that he and his peers would not have been able to follow God’s call to the priesthood without ACN’s support:
“We need practical help to be able to help people spiritually and in whatever other ways they require help.”
The seminary also served as a temporary home for dozens of refugees headed to the West earlier in the war. Ivan added:
“We are praying for your kind and generous benefactors. Please pray for us.”
These young seminarians are the hope of a country suffering material and spiritual devastation. Read more here.
Will you help them to realise this hope?

Why is the Regina Coeli prayed instead of the Angelus during Easter?
Sung here by ACN’s Dr John Newton, the Regina Coeli (Queen of Heaven) joyfully unites us with the Mother of God in celebrating the Resurrection of her Son, Jesus Christ. It is said or sung throughout Eastertide (from Easter Day through to Pentecost - the seventh Sunday after Easter), replacing the daily Angelus, which focuses on the mystery of the Incarnation.
Like the Angelus, the Regina Coeli is prayed three times a day, at dawn, noon, and sunset, to consecrate the day to God and the Virgin Mary, The author of this 12th century prayer is unknown, but it was said by Franciscan friars after Compline (Night Prayer) in the first half of the following century. Later it became popular and spread throughout the Christian world.
Please join us for the Regina Coeli this coming Wednesday on Instagram Live. To be notified when we go live, follow us on Instagram through the link below.
