Cardinal Joseph Coutts – one of ACN's longest-serving project partners in Pakistan – has issued an impassioned plea for prayers ahead of next week’s conclave.

In a video message received today shortly after he arrived in Rome, the former Archbishop of Karachi who was created cardinal by Pope Francis in June 2018, stressed that now is “the critical time” for prayers for the conclave.

“Now that many cardinals – more than 100 cardinals – from all over the world have gathered here in Rome, the time is coming close when we will go into the conclave to vote for the new pope.”

Echoing the words of Cardinal Joseph Coutts, as we approach conclave, we invite you to join us in prayer. Let us come together in faith and unity, seeking divine guidance and wisdom for the cardinals gathering in Rome.

Prayer

O God, eternal shepherd,

who govern your flock with unfailing care,

grant in your boundless fatherly love a pastor for your Church who will please you by his holiness and to us show watchful care.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Amen

ACN APPEAL

NIGERIA APPEAL

ACN supports projects across Nigeria to help the suffering faithful where their needs are greatest. Projects include pastoral and emergency aid – as well as scholarships for Christian children and trauma counselling for those displaced by violence.

You can also contribute towards the training of future priests and assist Sisters who are working tirelessly to distribute aid in their communities. Your donations can also help build or repair a church in Nigeria.

We have received amazing support so far from our generous benefactors in supporting our Nigeria appeal as a focus country for ACN this year. We ask you, please support these projects so that the work so many rely on may continue.
